EINSTUDIO Project - Second Phase Kick Off
The second phase of EINSTUDIO has officially kicked off!
The first session was held on September 21st, in a virtual meeting with the Einstudio Project team.
Our partner universities, Gazi University, University of Beira Interior and University of Alicante, have presented the talented group of students who will embark on the next phase of this journey and outlined all the next steps to this exciting phase of the project.
Students and the international team of teachers will meet weekly to follow up on the work done and share inputs about their projects.
28th September - Let's Start!
The 2nd Phase of Implementation began with an online meeting, where all students and teachers involved in this phase of the project started to align the next steps.
This will be a 15-week Journey Involving 11 Teams.
The meeting featured teacher introductions, presentation of the student groups and the detailed Session Plans.
Here you can access the main documents that will help everyone embark on this challenge.
05th October - Second week of work
The 2nd phase of the Implementation is now going strong.
The students presented their research work regarding each project.
It’s important to research and identify the functionalities that will respond to the specific theme context.
Therefore, this is an important step to ensure the quality and coeherence of the solutions that students will design.
12th October - Third week of work
The 2nd phase of the Implementation is now on week 3!
The students presented their ongoing research regarding each project and specific functionalities.
They presented the needs and constraints to each theme and continued working on their solutions.
19th October - Fourth week of work
The students presented iterations and sketches of their solutions.
Sketches and ideas were presented in the meeting.
The presentations showed the evolutions of the projects and each group received tips and comments about their work from the international team of teachers who are following this process.
26th October - 1ª Evaluation
On the 26th of October, the first online presentation for the 2nd Phase Implementation of this Project evaluation took place.
In this evaluation, the groups had to present their concept design with information regarding the project’s end users, the project layout (concept of use and dimensions) and the design concept of the objects with mock-ups.
After each group’s presentation, the international group of teachers commented and questioned the students about the choices made and provided notes for the future evolution of the work
2nd November - Sixth week of work
Concept design consolidation
This week, students completed the following tasks:
– Identifying the shapes of materials, structural solutions, and mechanisms
– Technical feasibility analysis – Parametric modelling.
9th November - Seventh week of work
Concept design consolidation.
Sketching, detailed drawings, mock-ups
and parameter definition.
• Concept design and aesthetic/common identity
• Justification and demonstration of ergonomics,
functionality, structural solution, materials, shapes, colors and patterns.
16th November - Eighth week of work
Concept design consolidation
The work continues with detailed drawings, models and definition of parameters.
All the presented works were discussed and will be later evaluated. The international team of teachers discussed with the groups the choices made and were able to give several indications and suggestions about them.
23rd November - Ninth week of work
Design consolidation: 2nd evaluation.
The teachers helped the students to arrange the final adjustments and provided tips so that the students can show their work in the most interestingly way.
30th November - tenth week of work
We are excited to present our most recent 3D work and prototypes, with an emphasis on: Dimensions, functionality, and ergonomics.
3D renderings for a realistic feel (material and colour testing).
For each team, we’re starting with #7 prototypes that have state-of-the-art articulated mechanics.
7th December - eleventh week of work
Work in Progress Update! 🌟
Continuing the journey with the unveiling of objects in 3D and prototypes.
The students presented their work and the teachers provided feedback.
14th December - twelfth week
Progress Update: Advancing 3D Designs & Prototypes!
Focused on:
– Expressing materials
– Defining dynamic requirements
– Analyzing technical feasibility
4th January - thirteenth week of work
Unveiling More 3D Objects and Prototypes
Th progress of all projects is evident and the students and teachers continued to work on improving all objects designed.
